Tips and Trends in Viral Video Marketing

With over 10,000 videos being posted to YouTube daily, how can you ensure that your video goes viral and gets the attention and reach that you are hoping for?

This blog by David Meerman Scott gives you 8 Tips To Make Your YouTube Video Go Viral.

Here is a very interesting article and discussion on TechCrunch.com about various strategies, some honest SEO others more black hat, that are being used to get YouTube videos to go viral.  This article sparked a heated debate and emotions are running high as seen by the nearly 500 comments on this post as of today and the need for the author to then post a rebuttal of sorts to those comments.

What spurred this emotional response is the issue of honesty in advertising and morality on the web.  So how far would you go to get your video to go viral?  Market your brand?  Make the sale?

It seems to me that most dishonest acts, in business and in life, will eventually be punished.  Call it karma.  Call it bad juju.  Call it the power of the people to eventually weed out those that lack social responsibility and integrity.  An honest and up front approach in your marketing and in your business will take you much further than deception any day.
